India E-visa is an official document issued by the government of India that provides an electronic travel authorization to enter the country simply by providing their basic personal details along with their passport information document. Every traveler must require a visa before arriving into the country except for citizens of neighboring Nepal and Bhutan.

The Indian visa scheme was renamed from ETA (Electronic Travel Assistance) to E-Visa on 1 April 2017 with having three Indian e-Visa types. They are as follows:

1. The e-Tourist Visa: It is applicable for those travelers who want to visit India for recreation purposes, sight-seeing, and meeting friends & family. It comes with a validity of one-month, one-year and five-years. Travelers can stay up to the length of 90 days except for citizens of the US, UK, Japan, and Canada as they can stay for up to 180 days at a time.
2. The e-Business Visa: It is applicable for those who want to enter India to participate only in business activities.
3. The e-Medical Visa: It is applicable for those who want to seek entry into India for Medical purposes only for a short time span.

Application Process to Apply Indian e-Visa
Now, let’s know about the Indian e-Visa Application Process and how to apply for an Indian E-visa into just 4 steps:

• Fill out the Online E-Visa Application: Go to the official website “indianvisaonline.gov.in” and complete the visa form as per the exact details of your travel documents at least four days before coming to India.
• Upload Photo and Passport Page: While filling out visa form, as you’re entering your details, you’ll also need to upload your photograph that meets all the specifications listed on the website about it. Also, upload your photo page of the passport and additional details a required.
• Indian e-Visa Payment: Once you’re done with entering the travel details, pay your visa fees through your debit/credit card. After that, you’ll receive a confirmation or visa approval mail which also includes your application ID.
• Receive your Indian E-Visa: Within three to five days, you’ll receive your visa (ETA) through mail therefore it is also necessary to check whether you had provided a valid email ID. During travel have a copy of your Visa (ETA) with you when you arrive in India for the Immigration check post.
